Some brief overview of book

Madhouse Blues is a collection of poems written by young Mississippi native Matt Hectorne. A musician by trade, Hectorne moved from small town Mississippi to urban Ohio on a whim at the age of 20 while seeking autonomy from his religious upbringing as well as the social prison one can find themselves in while living in a small, provincial town. Being completely unprepared to face the world alone after being sheltered in an entirely different culture, Hectorne loved, lost, and learned the hard way.

With this small collection, he explores some of those darkest yet transcendent times and how all pain, joy, and curiosity can be turned into art which is then turned into wisdom.
